Meet our CEO

David Yun C. Yung, PhD

Chief Executive Officer · Pomelo Biosciences

Dr. Yung earned dual degrees in Molecular Cell Biology and Cognitive Sciences from UC Berkeley and his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from UC San Diego. He continued research at Scripps Research and Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute before joining the Scintillon Institute.

His research has led to key discoveries in childhood hydrocephalus and neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's and Down syndrome, with more recent work focused on stem cell based treatments for diabetes, macular degeneration, Parkinson's, and general aging.

Dr. Yung is currently an Assistant Professor at Scintillon Institute and a consulting scientist for Allele Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals.
